About the event

Join The Brinton 1704 House and the Christiana Historical Society via Zoom for a lively evening discussing Benjamin Lay, Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, and the Quaker Abolition Schism! Learn about Quaker firebrands you've never heard of before, the heated debate in early Philadelphia about abolitionism, and the involvement of the Brinton family. Don't miss out!

This event is part of our "Brewing Up History" series. Attendees will be emailed a list of three suggested beverages to purchase in advance of the event for a virtual tasting during the discussion. Suggested beverages on the list will be both modern alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks with historic counterparts - we will sip and discuss them as part of the evening!
